Custom framing also provides the opportunity to choose from a variety of mounting and glazing options, offering protection against UV damage, moisture, and other environmental factors while enhancing the visual impact of the piece.
Furthermore, bespoke framing allows for individualized design choices, enabling the creation of a frame that complements the artwork and reflects the owner's unique style and preferences. Overall, bespoke framing adds value, protection, and personalization to cherished artworks and keepsakes.

What is framing?

Picture framing is both an art and a craft, requiring a combination of design skills, technical expertise, and knowledge of conservation principles.

Whether for personal enjoyment, commercial display, or preservation purposes, picture framing plays a significant role in showcasing and protecting visual art.

What types of frames do you offer?

Types of Frames We Offer

  • Wooden Frames: These are classic and versatile, available in various finishes such as oak, walnut, cherry, and painted or stained in different colors. They can range from simple and sleek to ornate and decorative.

  • Metal Frames: Often sleek and modern, metal frames can be made from aluminum, steel, or brass. They are durable and come in various finishes like silver, gold, black, or brushed metal.

  • Multi Aperture Frames: These frames allow you to display multiple pictures in one frame, arranged in a collage layout. They come in various configurations, such as grids, rows, or irregular arrangements.

  • Box Frames: Box frames are deeper than regular frames, allowing you to display three-dimensional objects along with photographs or artwork. They are commonly used for displaying memorabilia or collections.

  • Tray Frames: Tray frames give the illusion that the artwork is floating within the frame, and are generally used for artworks on canvas & board, that can be framed without glass. A gap is created between the artwork and the frame, generally 5-7mm, and the artwork is floated to the desired level.

  • Ornate Frames: Ornate frames often feature intricate designs or carvings. They can be made from wood, metal, or a combination of materials.
How do I choose the right frame for my artwork/photo?

Consider the overall style and aesthetic of the room where the framed piece will be displayed

Choose a frame that complements the existing décor, whether it's modern, traditional, minimalist, or eclectic.

Frames come in various styles, such as sleek and contemporary, ornate and decorative, rustic and distressed, or simple and understated.

Do you offer custom framing?

Yes we offer a fully bespoke service.

Custom framing is the process of creating a unique frame specifically tailored to fit and enhance a particular piece of artwork, photograph, or other item.

Instead of using a pre-made, standard-sized frame, custom framing allows you to choose the materials, dimensions, and design elements that best suit your piece and your personal style.

How should I care for and maintain my framed artwork/photo?

Proper care and maintenance can help preserve the beauty and integrity of your framed artwork for years to come. Here are some tips:

  • Placement: Choose a suitable location for your framed artwork, away from direct sunlight, high humidity, or extreme temperatures. Sunlight can cause fading and damage to the artwork over time, while fluctuations in temperature and humidity can lead to warping or deterioration.

  • Cleaning: Regularly dust the frame and glass with a soft, dry cloth to remove any buildup of dirt or debris. For stubborn dirt or fingerprints on the glass, lightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild glass cleaner. Avoid spraying cleaning solutions directly onto the frame or glass to prevent damage.

  • Handling: When handling framed artwork, always use clean hands and handle it with care. Lift the frame from the sides or bottom to avoid putting pressure on the corners, which can cause damage or loosening of the frame joints.

  • Hanging: Use appropriate hanging hardware and ensure that the frame is securely mounted to the wall. Avoid hanging artwork near heat sources, vents, or areas prone to moisture, as these conditions can damage both the frame and the artwork.

  • Protection: Consider using UV-protective glass or acrylic to shield the artwork from harmful UV rays, which can cause fading and deterioration over time. UV-filtering glazing can help preserve the colors and integrity of the artwork for longer.
